About Find NH Builders

Find NH Builders is an independent directory of New Hampshire contractors, organized by trade, region and town so homeowners can compare local pros in one place.

Who runs Find NH Builders

Find NH Builders is a small, independent website operated in New Hampshire. It lists only businesses that work in New Hampshire, and listing is free for every business.

We built it because finding a local contractor here usually means piecing together search results, social media groups and word of mouth. The goal is one place that covers every trade and every part of the state, from the Seacoast to the North Country.

How listings are compiled and checked

Listings come from three places: businesses that submit themselves through our free listing form, official public lists (such as NHDES septic designer and installer permits, NHDOT prequalification and EPA Lead-Safe Certified firms), and our own research of business websites.

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. For listings we research ourselves, the business's own website or an official list has to show a New Hampshire town and the phone number we list. Profiles show when details were last checked.

Ratings and review counts come from Google Places and are refreshed regularly. Reviews written on this site come from homeowners, are confirmed by email and are read by us before they're published. See our listing policy and review guidelines.

New Hampshire doesn't license general contractors, so we show a license number only when we have one and link to the state's license lookup. Always confirm licensing and insurance before you hire.

How often listings are updated

Google ratings are refreshed on a rolling schedule every few weeks, and businesses Google reports as permanently closed are removed automatically. New listings and corrections are added as they're checked, and any business can ask us to correct or remove its listing for free.

Editorial independence

Featured listings are paid placements: they're shown first on trade and region pages and are labelled Sponsored. Payment never affects reviews, ratings or the information we show about any business.

The site is also supported by advertising. Ads are shown by Google and are kept separate from listings.
